A Wimberley family business since 2015
Wimberley Towing is owned and operated by Shawn and Sara Meyette. Shawn grew up in Wimberley, and after they married, moving back home was the obvious choice. The company started in 2015 with one truck and a phone that Shawn answered himself.
It is now a team of twelve, including two dispatchers, six certified tow truck drivers, and two roadside technicians, running six flatbed trucks out of three yards. In 2024 the Hays County community voted us Best Wrecker Service in the Best of Hays awards.
What happens when you call
Five steps, and you know the cost before any of them start.
Dispatch answers 24 hours a day. No answering service, no callback queue.
Where you are, what you are driving, and whether the vehicle is still on the pavement.
You get the cost and an honest arrival window before a truck leaves the yard.
From the closest of our three yards, with the equipment the job actually needs.
Home, a shop, a dealership, or back on the road if that is all it took.
Need a tow right now?
Dispatch answers 24 hours a day. Tell us where you are, what you are driving, and whether the vehicle is still on the pavement, and we will tell you what it costs and when we will be there.
Where we run
Why the Hill Country calls us
Three yards, WreckMaster certified drivers, and a real number before the truck rolls.
A price before the truck rolls
A yard on your side of the county line
One call covers all of it
Straight answers before you call
The questions dispatch gets asked most.
How fast can you get to me?
It depends where you are, and that is the honest answer. We run yards in Wimberley, Kyle, and Blanco, so a call on RR 12, I-35, or US 281 is close to home for us. Dispatch will give you a real arrival window when you call rather than a number designed to stop you calling anyone else.
What does a tow cost?
If law enforcement authorised the tow, the rate is regulated: $272 starting in Hays County and $300 starting in Blanco County, before hookup, mileage, or special circumstances. For everything else, dispatch gives you an estimate before the truck rolls.
My truck is in a ditch, not on the road. Can you still get it?
That is a winch-out, and out here it is a large part of what we do. Hill Country shoulders drop off fast and caliche turns slick the moment it rains. We carry the recovery gear for mud, ditches, and off-camber pulls.
Can you tow my lowered, classic, or exotic car?
Yes, and on a flatbed, always. A wheel-lift under a low clearance or high value car is how bumpers and undertrays get destroyed. Specialty transport goes on the deck, every time.
Do you handle semi trucks and RVs?
Yes. Heavy duty is a real part of our fleet and our drivers are WreckMaster certified. We run the 281, 290, 71, and I-35 corridors. If you manage a fleet, ask dispatch about a corporate account with approved credit.
